Common Reasons for Infertility

Infertility is the case when a couple has been trying to conceive for a period of time and is not able to. There are certain conditions that cause infertility to both men and women. There are some that are simple while some others more are not. Reasons for infertility can range from the couple’s lifestyle, type of work environment, hereditary predispositions and sometimes even hygiene.

The most common cause for infertility in men is having low count of sperm. Several reasons are behind this, and only some are medical in nature. Usually, it includes having the condition called variocele wherein sperms come in abnormal shape. A man’s sperm count is affected by his lifestyle. Usually those men who are active smokers and alcohol drinkers and those who use prohibited drugs have lower sperm count than men who don’t. Soaking in a hut tub and wearing too tight jeans may cause low sperm count in men. Fortunately, there are cures that are applicable for correcting this concern.

As women don’t produce sperm, it’s ovulation that serves as the main factor that brings about infertility. Being in stressful situations, age, and other cervical conditions are usually the possible reasons of infertility in women.  A woman’s age is a huge factor. A woman in her thirties has low ovulation rate. The age group that has the best chance for ovulation is during their late teens and early twenties. It is during this time that they ovulation capabilities are at its peak and is very ripe for conception. Medical condition both at present and in the past can cause infertility in women. Other causes why women don’t conceive are previous infections, scar tissues, abnormal uterine lining, masses found in the uterus and even blocked fallopian tubes.

As both men and women can suffer from infertility, the initial step is to know which of the pair has the infertility concern. With the long list of reasons for infertility, it may be possible that both of you needs the extra medical attention. There are available medicines and health supplements in the market today for couples who have concerns with conception. So if you and your partner are in limbo as to why you’re still childless, it’s time you visit your physician now.
