Spring board for Weight Loss
Posted by Howard on Feb 19, 2009 in Weight Loss • No commentsHow many times have you said that you will be starting that new weight loss program? How many times have you prepared yourself and then, suddenly you change your mood and you do not like to do start again? Or just how many times have you started and quit?
Here are just some simple suggestions to start up and stay that weight loss program.
1. Find the weight loss program that you think you will enjoy. Your weight loss program should be comprehensive. It should cover your calorie needs for weight loss, required or suggested activities, your weight goals and your suggested diet.
2. Find a friend or a family member that can go through with you on your weight loss plan. S/He may or may not practice the diet itself, but just be there for moral support.
3. Do not pressure yourself too much on your weight loss program. Part of an ideal weight loss program is setting realistic goals. You should try to remember your target as you go through the process, but do not overdo things.
4. Reward yourself with small things often for successful short term goals. Say, that nice earrings you saw at the mall could be yours if you lose that 1 to 1.5 pound in a week.
5. Record your progress. This will motivate you to stay on your program, especially seeing that you are just a few pounds away.
6. Think of the best motivator to lose those pounds. One of my friends bought this fabulous wrap dress, which is two sizes smaller, then every other week she would try it on and see how amazing she looks on it. It actually worked, after a few months when she looks remarkable in that red wrap dress on her engagement night.
7. Eat. There is nothing wrong with eating, just cut back little by little. Know which can be an alternative to the food you are used to. Do not skip meals. Just try to eat smaller portions and be ready for very light food if you feel hungry.
8. Be patient. Slowly but surely is passé, but it is a sure way to keep the fat away. When you lose fat slowly, it increases the chance of weight rebound.
9. Keep moving. Exercise is the best way to hold on to your weight loss program, but then, you should try to boost up. You can try mowing the lawn once a week, or when you are on the phone stand up and walk around instead of just sitting down.
These are just simple suggestions to start up and stay on your weight loss program. This might help you achieve that ideal weight in time.
