Using Mineral Foundation Whether Wet or Dry
Posted by GuestW on Aug 18, 2009 in Miscellaneous • No commentsLots of people would like to use mineral foundation. But they do not want to lose the coverage that their current liquid foundation gives them. They are just not aware that you can use mineral foundation wet or dry. Both methods offer big benefits. You should know how to use mineral foundation wet and dry. This will help you to get the best look for your skin on any given day.
You will use the special horsehair brush that came with your makeup to apply your mineral foundation. You should plan to use this brush whether you use the foundation wet or dry. Be sure that you keep the brush clean so that you can reuse it each day.
Using mineral foundation dry gives you very light coverage. This does not mean that irregularities will show. It means that the foundation will feel light on your face. Of course you still will be able to layer on mineral powder foundation to cover lines and wrinkles.
Here are some of the benefits that you get from using mineral foundation as dry powder:
* It deflects light out of creases and wrinkles. This will decrease the signs of aging. The mica in mineral powder foundation works slightly better when dry.
* It feels like you are wearing no makeup at all. The powder will smooth onto your skin and provide a smooth, natural look.
* You can sleep in your dry mineral foundation if you want. It is generally a better option to remove your makeup given the option. Dry mineral foundation does not block your pores though and will not cause the kind of aging and damage that other liquid foundations can.
To apply the mineral foundation you should swirl the horsehair brush in the powder. Tap excess powder off of the horsehair brush. Buff the powder against your face in a circular motion. Keep applying the makeup in layers until you like your look. The end result will be light, bright and natural. You can apply any additional cosmetics over the mineral foundation.
Others prefer to use wet mineral foundation. They feel that this provides more thorough coverage. Mineral foundation covers evenly either way though, so this is largely a personal preference. Mineral foundation, when used wet, can give you a more “made up†look that people find glamorous. It is less natural, but may be viewed as more professional. It also provides a great palate for additional makeup. The first thing to do when applying mineral foundation is dip the brush in the dry powder. Tap the powder into your palm. Only get as much foundation as you need wet. Moisten the brush and swirl the foundation around. This will cause the liquid mineral foundation to stick to the brush. Blend first with the brush and then your fingers.
You can wear your mineral foundation wet or dry. You will enjoy your look and the feel of your skin with your mineral foundation.
